What Attio does well
Let's start with what rarely makes it onto “alternative” pages: Attio is a good product.
The data model is flexible — you build objects and relationships the way your business actually works, instead of forcing yourself into pre-built pipelines. The interface is fast. The AI features aren't a bolted-on sidebar but part of the architecture. Anyone who has fought with Salesforce or HubSpot understands, ten minutes into Attio, why the “AI-native CRM” category exists at all.
If your team works in English, your data residency doesn't matter and you want a product with several years of maturity — stop searching, go with Attio.
Still here? Then here come the points that send teams in the German-speaking market looking further.
Why European teams look for an Attio alternative
- 1
No guaranteed EU data residency.
Attio runs on Google Cloud and serves traffic from a single region it doesn't name publicly. A contractually guaranteed EU data residency isn't something Attio offers off the shelf — international transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). For many companies that's workable. For some — say, with public-sector clients or strict data-processing requirements — a missing EU-residency commitment is a deal-breaker. Not because non-European processing is inherently bad, but because every transfer out of the EU is a line in your GDPR documentation that you have to justify.
- 2
No German orientation.
Product, docs, support: English. For a founder team that's no problem. For a 15-person company where not everyone operates English software every day, it's friction — every day.
- 3
“AI-native” means: AI processing in the US cloud.
Attio's AI features run on large US model providers, secured via Standard Contractual Clauses. It's technically cleanly solved, but it means your customer data travels there for processing. If your data protection officer raises an eyebrow at that sentence, they know their job.
OrangeTable: AI-native CRM, data in the EU
OrangeTable is a CRM built around AI agents from day one — not a classic CRM with a chatbot bolted on. The idea: the CRM largely maintains itself. Enriching contacts, logging interactions, preparing follow-ups — the system handles the routine, the decision stays with you. On the data question, concretely rather than as a marketing line:
-
Your CRM data is stored in the EU. OrangeTable runs on Cloudflare, with every storage location fixed to EU jurisdiction — so your data sits in European data centers, not scattered across the globe.
-
AI processing with guardrails. LLM requests run through providers under a data processing agreement, with no training on your data and no permanent storage at the model provider. Which models are in use is stated openly in the docs — not in the fine print.
-
German isn't a translation, it's the default. Product and support come from Austria. Your contact sits in your time zone and knows what an Austrian VAT ID is.
To be straight about it, so no one feels misled: OrangeTable runs on Cloudflare — a globally operating provider, not a pure-EU host. What we commit to is the storage location in the EU (all data stores pinned to EU jurisdiction), not immunity from every conceivable legal regime. On that basis OrangeTable can, to our understanding, be run in a GDPR-compliant way — we're not claiming a finished compliance seal, we're telling you how it's set up technically.
The honest status report
OrangeTable is in alpha — and without that sentence the rest of this page would be worthless. That means the core works, the feature set is narrower than Attio's, and things are still changing. We're currently taking on a handful of pilot customers who sharpen the CRM with us against their own process — with a direct line to the founders instead of a ticketing system. If you need a finished product with five years of changelog, we're not your tool yet. If you want a CRM that's built around your workflow rather than the other way round, let's talk.
